The ROI page
The ROI page puts what you spent on creators in a date range next to the revenue they drove. Revenue is measured three ways, one per tab, and the tabs are never added together.
The ROI page on the Fairing tab, for the last 30 days.
- The date button sets the range. It names the preset you picked, and the dates in use show under ROI.
- Switch between Fairing, Code Uses and Affiliates: three separate measures of revenue.
- The cards total the range for the tab you're on.
- One row per creator, best ROAS first. A creator with mentions but no deal published in the range has no spend or ROAS.
Pick a date range
Section titled “Pick a date range”The page opens on the current calendar month.
-
Click the date button at the top right of the page.
-
Pick a preset under Quick select (Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month, Last month, Year to date, Last 6 months, Last 12 months or Last year), or click a start and end date on the calendar.
-
Click Apply.
Nothing reloads until you click Apply, so you can try a few dates first. Cancel keeps the range you had.
On every tab, spend is the rate of each deal at Published whose publish date falls in the range. What counts as revenue depends on the tab.
The three tabs
Section titled “The three tabs”| Tab | Measures | Kind of number |
|---|---|---|
| Fairing | Post-purchase survey answers that name a creator, scaled up for shoppers who skipped the survey | An estimate |
| Code Uses | Uses of the Shopify discount codes on your creators’ deals | A count |
| Affiliates | Orders GoAffPro credited to an affiliate | A count |
The page opens on the first tab whose source is connected.
Fairing
Section titled “Fairing”The cards at the top show Total Creator Spend, Attributed Revenue and Blended ROAS (attributed revenue ÷ spend). The table has one row per creator:
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Channel, Platform | The creator |
| Published | Deals published in the range |
| Spend | The rates of those deals |
| Survey Mentions | Survey answers in the range that credit this creator, before scaling (for example, “12 raw”) |
| Est. Revenue | The revenue those answers stand for, once scaled up for shoppers who skipped the survey |
| ROAS | Est. Revenue ÷ Spend |
A creator is listed if they have spend or survey mentions in the range, so a creator whose video went out last month can show revenue this month with no spend. Creators with the best ROAS come first.
Code Uses
Section titled “Code Uses”The cards show Total Creator Spend, Total Code Uses, Revenue and Blended CPA (spend ÷ code uses). There’s one row per deal, with Channel, Code, Platform, Published (the deal’s publish date), Spend, Code Uses, CPA and Revenue.
Only deals published in the range that have a discount code in Creator Jam appear. A deal with more than one code is still one row, and its rate is counted once. The Code column lists each of its codes with that code’s own uses, and Code Uses, CPA and Revenue cover all of them. The uses and revenue are each code’s totals so far in Shopify, not only orders placed in the range. A code that’s been deleted in Shopify shows “—”, because its uses can no longer be read. To add codes to a deal, see Discount codes.
Affiliates
Section titled “Affiliates”The cards show Total Creator Spend, Affiliate Revenue (with the number of referred orders), Commission paid to affiliates, and Net ROAS (revenue from linked affiliates ÷ (spend + their commission)). The table has one row per affiliate with sales in the range: Affiliate, Channel, Platform, Orders, Spend, Revenue, Commission, ROAS and Net ROAS. Orders GoAffPro has rejected aren’t counted.
The Affiliates tab, with one affiliate that isn't linked to a creator yet.
- This notice appears when some affiliates aren't linked to a creator.
- A linked affiliate shows its creator, a tag saying how it was matched, and change. Amber tags are matches by handle or name, so they're the ones to check.
- An unlinked affiliate has a Link to a creator… menu in the Channel column.
Creator Jam links each affiliate to one of your creators automatically. When it can’t, a notice says how many affiliates aren’t linked. Their revenue is included in Affiliate Revenue, but not in Net ROAS, because there’s no creator spend to set it against. To fix one, pick a creator from Link to a creator… in the Channel column, or pick — Not a creator —. Use change to correct a link, and reset to go back to automatic matching. GoAffPro explains how the matching works.
Why Total Creator Spend differs between tabs
Section titled “Why Total Creator Spend differs between tabs”Each tab counts the spend of the creators it can measure:
- Fairing counts every deal published in the range.
- Code Uses counts only published deals that have a discount code, each deal once.
- Affiliates counts only creators linked to an affiliate who had sales in the range.
Why the tabs are never added together
Section titled “Why the tabs are never added together”The three sources overlap. If a shopper buys from Ridgeline Coffee with SAM15, that order is a code use. If SAM15 is also Sam Builds Stuff’s GoAffPro coupon, the same order is an affiliate sale, and the shopper may also name Sam in the survey. Adding the tabs would count that one order up to three times, so Creator Jam keeps them apart for you to compare.
They also answer different questions. Fairing estimates everyone a creator influenced, including shoppers who never used a code or link. Code Uses and Affiliates count only orders that came through a code or link. Expect a creator’s Affiliates revenue to be lower than their Fairing revenue. The gap is the influence that can’t be traced. For the full method, see How attribution works.
When a source isn’t connected or can’t be read
Section titled “When a source isn’t connected or can’t be read”If a source isn’t connected, its tab says so at the top: Fairing not connected., Shopify not connected. or GoAffPro not connected. Its revenue figures show as “—”. Connect the source in Settings → Integrations, then come back to the tab.
If a source is connected but can’t be read right now, Creator Jam tells you rather than showing $0:
- The Fairing tab shows the error in red.
- The Code Uses tab shows Code uses are unavailable right now. Spend is still accurate, and uses, revenue and CPA show as “—” until Shopify can be read again.
- The Affiliates tab shows Affiliate revenue is unavailable right now. Every card shows “—” until GoAffPro can be read again. That includes spend, because on this tab spend depends on which creators are linked to an affiliate.
A “—” in a ROAS or CPA column means there’s nothing to divide, such as no spend or no revenue for that creator in the range.
Attribution settings
Section titled “Attribution settings”The Attribution Settings card in Settings → Integrations holds the Purchase consideration window: how long a typical shopper takes to buy after watching a video. Choose 7, 14, 21, 30, 45 or 60 days (the default is 21), then click Save.
The window doesn’t change any number on the ROI page, which credits each creator as a whole. It changes how a creator’s revenue is split between their YouTube videos in Creator performance, where you can also try other ways of splitting revenue and preview their decay curves.
