Monthly Overview

Conversations → Monthly Overview lists the booked and published deals scheduled to publish in one month. Use it to plan a month’s content, check what’s still outstanding, and see how much of the month’s spend has gone live.

Monthly Overview for October, the current month, with Sam Builds Stuff's retainer opened to show its three pieces.

  1. Pick the month and the year to view.
  2. With custom fields that have options, the Filter bar narrows the list and the numbers.
  3. + New Conversation adds a deal to this month. Sync to Lifetimely and Sync to Northbeam show once you've connected them, and Update Dates shows when booked deals are overdue.
  4. Hover over a row to show the copy icon that duplicates the deal.
  5. A retainer's deals for the month share one row. Click it to show each piece.

Pick a month and a year with the menus at the top right. The page opens on the current month, and the subtitle under the page title says which month you’re viewing, with “Current” for this month.

A deal appears in the month of its Publish Date. When a deal has content attached, that’s the publish date of its earliest piece. See One deal, several videos.

Only deals in Finalize contract, Content expected or Published show here. Deals still in Reach out, Follow up or Negotiating are left out because their rate may change or the deal may fall through. You’ll find them on Conversations → Campaigns. Dead deals are left out too. A deal without a publish date doesn’t appear on Monthly Overview at all.

Card What it shows
Creators How many different creators have a deal this month, and how many conversations are scheduled.
Projected Budget The rates of the month’s booked and published deals added together.
Published Spend The rates of deals marked Published, with the share of the projected budget that’s published and how much remains.
Published How many of the month’s deals are published, for example “6 of 10”, and the percentage complete.

The table shows each deal’s Channel, Campaign, Rate, Publish Date and Status, latest publish date first. Click a row to open the deal’s conversation panel. See Conversations and the pipeline.

A retainer’s deals for the month share one row, labeled “Retainer” with the number of pieces. The row shows their combined rate, their date range and an overall status:

  • Published when every piece is published, or “2 / 3 Published” when some are.
  • Otherwise, the furthest stage any piece has reached.

Click the retainer row to show each piece, then click a piece to open it. See Retainers.

To book the same deal again, such as next month’s podcast read, click the copy icon next to the Publish Date (its tooltip says “Duplicate conversation”; on a computer it shows when you hover over the row). Choose a date, or use Next Week or Next Month, then click Duplicate.

The Duplicate pop-up on Hannah Brews' deal. The date starts at the deal's own publish date.

The new conversation has the same creator, campaign, rate and stage. Content, orders and discount codes aren’t copied. Because the stage is copied too, a copy of a Published deal starts as Published, so change its stage until the new content is live.

If your team has custom fields with options, a Filter bar appears above the numbers. Conversation fields are listed under Convo and channel fields under Channel. Choose an option to show only deals that have it. A deal must match every filter you set, and the numbers at the top follow the filter.

Click Clear to remove all filters. Notes fields can’t be used as filters. See Custom fields.

Click + New Conversation. The form starts the deal in Finalize contract, dated the 15th of the month you’re viewing. If you pick an earlier stage, the deal won’t show here until it reaches Finalize contract.

When the month has deals in Finalize contract or Content expected whose publish date is today or has passed, an Update Dates button appears.

  1. Click Update Dates.

  2. Read the confirmation, then click Update.

Every overdue deal in that month that’s in Finalize contract or Content expected gets today’s date as its publish date. Deals in earlier stages keep their dates. If you’re viewing an earlier month, the updated deals move into the current month.

If you’ve connected Northbeam or Lifetimely, Sync to Northbeam and Sync to Lifetimely send the month’s spend there. Both send only deals marked Published that have a rate.

  1. Choose the month and click Sync to Northbeam or Sync to Lifetimely.

  2. Review the preview. For Northbeam, each deal is marked New, Update or Synced. For Lifetimely, the list shows only deals that aren’t on your sheet yet.

  3. Click the sync button in the preview to send them.

A deal split across several pieces of content is sent once, at its full rate. See Northbeam.
