Connect Claude or another AI assistant (MCP)
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant use another app’s tools. Once you connect Creator Jam’s MCP server, you can ask your assistant in plain language to find a creator, move deals through the pipeline, log view counts, check spend against budget or pull an ROI report. It works with your team’s live data.
Connecting takes three parts. You create an API key in Creator Jam, add the Creator Jam server URL to your AI client, and then pick that key on a Creator Jam page that opens in your browser. You never paste the key into your AI client. You choose it by name on that page.
Create an API key
Section titled “Create an API key”-
Open Settings → Integrations. On the MCP Server card, click Manage keys. This opens the MCP Server page.
-
Under API Keys, click + New key.
-
Enter a Name that says who uses the key and where, such as “Claude Desktop — Alex”, then click Create.
-
Creator Jam shows the new key once. You won’t need to paste it anywhere, because you’ll pick the key by name when you authorize. Click I have it.
Keys belong to your team. Everyone on the team sees the same list, with each key’s Name, Prefix, Last used and Created date, and anyone on the team can revoke any key. Create one key for each person or device, so you can revoke one without disconnecting everyone else.
Copy the server URL
Section titled “Copy the server URL”The Server URL is at the top of the MCP Server page, with a Copy button. It’s the address you use to open Creator Jam with /api/mcp on the end, for example https://app.creatorjam.co/api/mcp. Always copy it from that page.
Add Creator Jam to your AI client
Section titled “Add Creator Jam to your AI client”These steps work in Claude on the web and in the Claude desktop app. A connector you add in one shows up in the other when you’re signed in to the same Claude account.
-
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
-
Click Add custom connector.
-
Name it “Creator Jam”, paste the server URL, and add it.
-
Click Connect. A browser tab opens the Creator Jam authorize screen.
-
Pick your key and click Authorize.
If you don’t see the option to add a custom connector, ask whoever manages your Claude organization. On some plans, only owners can add connectors.
-
In a terminal, run:
Terminal window claude mcp add --transport http creator-jam https://app.creatorjam.co/api/mcpUse the server URL from your MCP Server page if it’s different.
-
Start Claude Code and run
/mcp. -
Choose creator-jam and pick the option to authenticate. A browser tab opens the Creator Jam authorize screen.
-
Pick your key and click Authorize.
-
Open your MCP settings file. Use
~/.cursor/mcp.jsonfor every project, or.cursor/mcp.jsoninside one project. -
Add Creator Jam, using the server URL from your MCP Server page:
{"mcpServers": {"creator-jam": {"url": "https://app.creatorjam.co/api/mcp"}}} -
In Cursor’s MCP settings, creator-jam shows that it needs you to sign in. Click to sign in. A browser tab opens the Creator Jam authorize screen.
-
Pick your key and click Authorize.
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with OAuth sign-in can connect. Add the server URL, and the client finds Creator Jam’s sign-in on its own and opens the authorize screen.
Clients that only accept a fixed API key or a custom header can’t connect. A Creator Jam key only works through the authorize screen.
The authorize screen
Section titled “The authorize screen”If you’re signed out of Creator Jam in that browser, you’re asked to Sign in with Google first, and the authorize screen opens straight after.
When your client connects, your browser shows Connect followed by the client’s name, and the line “Authorize this MCP client to access Creator Jam data using one of your API keys.” Choose a key from the API key list, where keys are shown by name and prefix, then click Authorize. The bottom of the page shows which Creator Jam account you’re signed in with.
If you don’t have a key yet, the page links to Create one. Create the key, then refresh the authorize page.
After that, the connection renews itself. About every 90 days your client asks you to authorize again.
What your assistant can do

A few things to know:
- Integration tools need the integration. Shopify tools need Shopify connected,
get_roi_reportneeds Fairing,get_affiliate_roineeds GoAffPro, and thediscovery_tools need your team’s YouTube API key. See Finding new YouTube creators. - Gift orders are free. Draft orders the assistant creates are gift orders at 100% off, linked to the deal.
- Discount codes aren’t attached to a deal. A code the assistant creates is a percentage-off code in Shopify. It doesn’t appear on any conversation, so it isn’t counted on the Code Uses tab of the ROI page.
- Some things are only in the app. The assistant can’t delete creators, deals or content. It also can’t manage retainers, short links, campaigns, outreach emails, your team or integration settings, or run the Northbeam and Lifetimely syncs.
Things to ask
Section titled “Things to ask”- “Find Sam Builds Stuff and tell me where our deal stands.”
- “Which deals are in Content expected with a publish date in the next two weeks?”
- “Sam’s video is live at youtube.com/watch?v=… Add it to his deal.”
- “Which Instagram and TikTok posts haven’t had a view count in 14 days?”
- “Hannah Brews’ reel is at 12.4K views and Kai Outdoors’ TikTok is at 48K. Record both for today.”
- “Move every deal still in Follow up from the spring campaign to Dead.”
- “How does committed creator spend compare with our budget for the next three months? Set November’s target to $15,000.”
- “Which creators drove the most Fairing revenue last quarter, and what was their ROAS?”
- “Which ad usage licenses expire in the next 30 days, and which haven’t been paid yet?”
- “Add Sam Builds Stuff to Fairing’s Podcast list too, then sync.”
- “What’s still waiting for review on our Discovered shortlists?”
- “Find YouTube creators under 60,000 subscribers who posted about pour-over coffee this month and aren’t in Creator Jam yet.”
Keep your data safe
Section titled “Keep your data safe”- The assistant works as your team. Anyone who connects with a key can read and change everything these tools reach, across your whole team’s data.
- Changes are real. Moving a deal, editing a rate, recording views, adding a creator you found or creating a Shopify order or discount code happens straight away, in Creator Jam and, for Shopify tools, in your store. Most AI clients ask before using a tool that changes data, so read what the assistant is about to do before you approve it.
- Deletes are permanent. Deleting a custom field also deletes every value stored in it. Deleted view counts and ad usage licenses can’t be recovered.
- Revoke a key at any time. On the MCP Server page, click Revoke next to the key, then Revoke key. Every client using that key stops working on its next request. Revoking can’t be undone, so to reconnect, create a new key and authorize again.
Check the Last used column now and then. A key nobody recognizes, or one that hasn’t been used in months, is worth revoking.
