Adding content

Every video, post or podcast episode that features your brand is a piece of content in Creator Jam. Adding it starts view tracking, so you can see each video’s views and CPM. Forms and buttons call a piece of content a feature, so that’s the word you’ll see on screen.

You can open the Add New Feature form from four places:

  • Content in the sidebar, then + Add Feature above the grid.
  • A conversation’s details, with Add Feature. Once the deal has content, the button reads Add Another Feature. The conversation is filled in for you.
  • A channel’s details, with + Add Feature above that creator’s content. The channel is filled in for you.
  • Anywhere in the app: press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) or click Search… at the top of the page. Choose New Feature, paste the link and press Enter. The form opens with the link filled in, ready to save with Enter.
  1. Open the Add New Feature form.
  2. Paste the link into Feature URL. Creator Jam fetches the details straight away and shows a preview.
  3. Check the channel under Channel Information. If Creator Jam recognized the creator from the link, they’re already picked and marked Matched from URL. Otherwise, search for the channel and pick it.
  4. Check Feature Name and Feature Type.
  5. Pick the deal in the Search or select a conversation (optional) box, or leave it empty if there’s no deal.
  6. Check Publish Date, and set it to the day the content went live.
  7. Click Add Feature.

A channel is required. If the creator isn’t in Creator Jam yet, add them on Channels first, because the form can’t create one. See Channels.

Link Shown as What’s filled in
YouTube video (youtube.com/watch…, youtu.be/…) YouTube Thumbnail, title, publish date, and the creator
YouTube Short (youtube.com/shorts/…) YouTube Short Vertical thumbnail when YouTube has one, title, publish date, and the creator
Instagram post or reel Instagram, or Instagram Reel Thumbnail and handle when Instagram shares them. A reel link also sets the type to IG Reel
TikTok video TikTok Cover image, caption as the title, and handle
Anything else, such as an article or a podcast episode page The site’s name, or Link Title and image from the page’s link preview, if it has one

Only YouTube gives Creator Jam a publish date. For everything else, Publish Date starts as today, or as the deal’s date when you add a deal’s first content from its conversation. Set it yourself.

If a link can’t be read, you’ll see “Couldn’t fetch details for this link — you can fill them in manually.” You can still save. The name falls back to the last part of the link. Anything you type into a field is kept, even if the details arrive a moment later.

Instagram and TikTok give out image links that stop working after a few days. Creator Jam saves its own copy of those thumbnails when you add the content, so cards don’t go blank later. Instagram doesn’t always share a preview image. When it doesn’t, you’ll see a placeholder with the Instagram icon, and everything else works the same.

Creator Jam matches the link against the channels you already have:

  • YouTube: the video’s YouTube channel, matched to a YouTube channel in Creator Jam, or to one with exactly the same name.
  • Instagram and TikTok: the post’s handle, matched to a channel on that platform whose profile link or name is that handle. A reel by @hannahbrews matches Hannah Brews.
  • Everything else: the website, matched to a channel’s link, or the site’s name matched to a channel’s name. An episode page on slowmorningspodcast.com matches The Slow Mornings Podcast.

The conversation box lists the chosen creator’s deals, with each one’s campaign and stage, and how many features it already has.

When the creator was matched from the link, Creator Jam also picks the deal for you if exactly one of their deals is at Finalize contract or Content expected and has no content yet. The box is then marked Matched from URL. Deals at earlier stages are never picked, so an organic mention from a creator you’re still talking to isn’t given that deal’s spend. Check the pick before you save, or clear it.

One deal can cover several pieces of content. Creator Jam never adds a second video to a deal by guessing, so pick the conversation yourself. The form then reminds you that the new content joins the deal’s spend split. The split is even by default, and you can change it on the conversation. If the deal already has a custom split, the new content starts at $0 until you update the split. See One deal, several videos.

Adding content also sets the deal’s publish date to the date of its earliest content. It doesn’t move the deal to Published, so change the stage yourself.

Organic mentions count too. Leave the conversation empty and pick Organic Mention or Organic Feature as the type. Views are tracked the same way as paid content. With no deal there’s no spend, so the content has no CPM.

The types are Sponsored Segment (the default), Dedicated Review, Organic Feature, Organic Mention and IG Reel. Each type you use becomes a tab on the Content page.

Click a card on Content, or in a channel’s or conversation’s details, to open it.

  • To edit, change Feature Name, Feature Type, Publish Date or Feature URL, then click Save Changes. A new link doesn’t fetch a new thumbnail or title, but it does decide how views are tracked. See How views are tracked.
  • The channel and conversation are shown but can’t be changed here. To link content to a different deal, ask Claude to move it (see Claude and AI assistants), or delete it and add it again.
  • To delete, click Delete at the top of the panel, then Delete again to confirm. This removes the content and its view history, and can’t be undone. If it was the deal’s earliest content, the deal’s publish date moves to the date of its next one.
